YMCA Back to School Bash – July 2019

Since 2010, the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids has hosted the Back to School Bash, a free family event that supports thousands of children and families in the community. Attendees receive a free backpack full of supplies such as markers, glue sticks, pencils, folders, notebooks and other school essentials, with the goal of lessening the economic hardship of back-to-school shopping for families in the Grand Rapids community. The event also includes art projects, games, face painting, treats, giveaways and more.

“The YMCA is committed to ensuring that every child reaches their full potential,” says Kevin Myers, District Executive Director, David D. Hunting YMCA. “Through Egan’s support of the Back to School Bash, we’ll be able to provide many more kids with the tools they need to succeed this school year and beyond.”

This year’s Back to School Bash will take place on Friday, August 2 at 6 p.m. at the David D. Hunting YMCA, located at 475 Lake Michigan Dr. NW. For more information on the YMCA and Back to School Bash, visit www.grymca.org.
