Folds Grand Rapids Receives Final Donation in Egan $100k Community Giveaway during Veterans Day Presentation

Folds of Honor is a nonprofit that grants scholarships to the family members of fallen and disabled service members. In 2016, local veteran Brad Laackman, along with Brian Heerdt and Jay Ofield, founded Folds Grand Rapids and organized its primary fundraiser – the annual Patriot Day Golf Outing. The event takes place each August and has grown annually in size and participation. Just last year, the organization was able to provide nearly $20,000 in scholarships. Today, the Grand Rapids chapter is working toward a $50,000 fundraising goal in order to create an endowment fund for local students.

Susan Mast ALS Foundation to Fund Voice Preservation Program with $10,000 Donation from Egan

Susan Mast ALS Foundation supports ALS patients, their families and caregivers living in West Michigan. ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, for which there is currently no cure or treatment. The donation will fund the recently created "Jim's Voice" program, which assists patients as they lose their ability to speak.
