Mechanical contractor and fabricator Andy J. Egan Co. (Egan) has promoted two employees to director roles on the company’s leadership team. Chris Bradburn will fill the role of Director of Sheet Metal & Insulation, following the recent retirement of Chris Peceny, who led that department since Egan first began offering the service in 2004. Bradburn was previously a project manager in the same department, which he joined in 2014.
“Chris Peceny has spent nearly two decades building an exceptional sheet metal and insulation division at this company,” says Andy Jasper, Egan’s President. “We’re grateful for his service and wish him an even more exceptional retirement. Egan is excited to welcome his successor, Chris Bradburn to our team of directors."
Egan has also created a new director role, promoting Ben Whitely to Director of Preconstruction. Whitely has served as the manager of that department since it was created in 2018 and has been an Egan employee since 2009. "Chris and Ben have the right balance of industry experience and forward-thinking ideas that will build on the excellence that Egan is known for," says Jasper.
Chris Bradburn, Director of Sheet Metal & Insulation
Early in his education, Chris Bradburn had plans to become an engineer. After some initial coursework at Michigan Tech University, he found construction management to be a better fit. He worked as a field intern at Clark Construction in Lansing while completing his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management at Michigan State University. Chris was promoted to project engineer and then project manager at Clark, where he stayed until moving to West Michigan in 2014. He joined Andy J. Egan Co. as a project manager/estimator in the sheet metal department. In that role, he especially enjoyed collaborating across Egan’s departments – with Design-Build or VDC for example – to solve his customer’s biggest HVAC challenges. Now, as Director of Sheet Metal & Insulation, Chris oversees a field crew of up to 30, plus a support staff of project managers and assistants. Originally from Iron Mountain, he enjoys return trips to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with his wife and their two kids. Chris, who has been skiing since he was a toddler, regularly volunteers with the Cannonsburg Challenged Ski Association, an organization that provides individuals with disabilities the opportunity to ski using adaptive methods and equipment.
Ben Whitely, Director of Preconstruction
A graduate of Ferris State University’s Construction Management program, Ben Whitely joined Egan in 2009. Since that time, he’s held a number of management roles, and in 2018 Ben was tasked with the development of Egan’s Preconstruction Department. The seven-person team has a combined 120 years of industry experience, and under Ben’s leadership has worked across departments to streamline processes and procedures that create consistent, successful projects for Egan customers. The team has implemented innovative solutions that better estimate, track and manage projects. As Director of Preconstruction, Ben works to implement data and experience-driven strategic plans that introduce the company to new markets and partnerships while leaning into the strong relationships that the company has built throughout the last century.
