Grand Rapids, Mich.—Mechanical contractor and fabricator Andy J. Egan Co. (Egan) is the 2021 "Harvester" sponsor of Access of West Michigan's 2021 Walk for Good Food. The virtual event takes place May 2-12 and raises funds for 13 local organizations working to create "Good Food Systems" in West Michigan.

"Good Food Systems" offers a different approach to hunger and food insecurity by also addressing injustices in the food systm, remedying health disparities and growing community-driven solutions. Access of West Michigan envisions a community where everyone has equal access to food that nourishes, creates good jobs, is affordable and treats the earth well as it is produced.

To participate in the 2021 Walk for Good Food, sign up as an individual or team at http://accessofwestmichigan.org/walk/, and create a fundraising page. Complete your walk anytime between May 2 and May 12, and follow along virtually on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using #Walk4GoodFood. Walkers should follow CDC guidelines on a route of their choosing through their neighborhood. Because the Walk for Good Food has historically been a 5k, walkers are encouraged -- but not required -- to find a route of the same distance.
